UN seeks to establish Russia-Ukraine humanitarian contact group

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said on his visit to Moscow he is working to establish a humanitarian contact group between Russia and Ukraine.
Guterres has met Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov – and says there is an urgent need to save lives in besieged cities like Mariupol.
The UN secretary general will meet President Vladimir Putin later on Tuesday – before leaving for Ukraine’s capital.
