North Korea has offered a brief response to the United Nations Command regarding a US soldier who bolted across its border from South Korea, the Pentagon said on August 1, 2023. US Army Private Travis King was on a tour of the demilitarised zone when he sprinted into the North on July 18. He was reportedly immediately taken into custody, but Pyongyang had remained silent on his fate until now.
