Australian journalist Cheng Lei has spoken to the media since returning home after three years of detention in China on suspicion of leaking Chinese state secrets. Cheng said she could not reveal details about her case, but in her first media interview, which was aired on October 17, 2023, she confirmed that had shared a government briefing document before going on-air, breaking an embargo by a few minutes.
