Indian billionaire Gautam Adani has big plans to redevelop Mumbai’s largest slum area made famous in the 2008 Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Residents, however, are opposed to the ambitious US$3 billion redevelopment plan, which they say lacks clarity. They are also worried the project would result in a loss of livelihood.
