US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Turkey to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in the Turkish capital Ankara on his latest diplomatic trip of the region.

He’s due to meet Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the war in Gaza. The visit comes as relations between Israel and Turkiye are strained, with both countries having recalled their envoys. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Israel’s attacks on civilians in Gaza.

Al Jazeera’s Resul Serdar is in Ankara for the latest updates.
