Taiwan votes 2020: Presidential candidates clash during third policy presentation

On Dec 27, Taiwan presidential candidates bared their policies in a third televised presentation. The Jan 11 election is a three-cornered fight between incumbent Tsai Ing-wen of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, Han Kuo-yu of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), and James Soong of the centre-right People First Party. Latest opinion polls show President Tsai has 47% public support, putting her ahead of KMT’s Han by more than 30 percentage points — the largest gap ever between the two leading candidates.
