Search for missing Titanic submersible: What we know so far

US and Canadian coastguards have launched a search-and-rescue mission after a tourist submersible lost contact on its way down to the Titanic shipwreck in the North Atlantic.
The small craft, named Titan, was taken 600km from the Canadian province of Newfoundland to the site of the sunken remains of the British passenger ship.
Which is nearly 4km beneath the surface.
The company that operates the vessel says there are five people on board and a few days of life support.
OceanGate Expeditions, a company based in the US state of Washington that deploys crewed submersibles for deep-sea expeditions, said that its vessel was the subject of the rescue operation.
