Overcrowding in settlement camps has prompted many Rohingya to turn to contraception or abortion. According to the UN refugee agency, about two-thirds of Rohingya couples use some form of birth control, which many previously believed was against the tenets of their Islamic faith despite the religion’s lack of uniform view on contraception.
