Israel releases Sheikh Jarrah activists after hours-long arrests

Activists Muna al-Kurd and Mohammed al-Kurd, who are leading a campaign to stop the expulsions of Palestinians from occupied East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, have been released from custody several hours after Israeli police arrested them.
For weeks, Palestinian protesters have been fighting to stop Jewish settlers from taking over their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Givara Budeiri was arrested on Saturday in the same neighbourhood and fractured her hand in the process but has since left the hospital.
She had been covering a protest in the area.

Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports from occupied East Jerusalem.
