Hundreds of Iranian drones and missiles were seen flying over Israel and the Palestinian territories on April 13, 2024, though most of the devices were intercepted by air defences according to the Israeli military. Iran said the attack was a response to Israel’s bombing of an Iranian consulate in Syria two weeks earlier. While the US has described Iran’s move as a brazen attack, several countries have called for a de-escalation of hostilities.
