Farmers set fires in Brussels ahead of Agriculture Ministers meeting | BBC News

Farmers have blocked roads and set fire to tyres across Brussels ahead of a meeting of Agricultural Ministers from across the EU.

Ministers are set to meet to discuss their response to protests by farming groups across many European countries including France, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and Spain and others.

Protests have erupted over what the farmers say are cheap imports from outside the EU, excessively restrictive environmental rules and falling incomes.

Riot police were seen facing off with protestors and used water cannons.
