Police in the US city of San Francisco have shot dead a man who crashed his car into the Chinese consulate on October 9, 2023. The apparent political attack happened when the suspect reportedly emerged from his vehicle asking, “Where’s the CCP?”, in a reference to China’s ruling Communist Party. The consulate has condemned the incident, which happened as Beijing and Washington plan for a possible leaders’ summit in the US city.
