Chinese engineers have successfully tested a high-speed magnetic levitation train system on March 31, 2023, with a test run that involved carriages travelling at a top speed of about 600km/h (373mph). Chinese engineers said the system, which uses superconducting materials that operate at higher temperatures, could be installed in low-vacuum pipelines that would allow the maglev carriages to move at speeds that rival planes.
