Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced a growth target of 5.5 per cent for 2022, citing “triple pressures” of declining demand, supply chain disruptions and weaker expectations as the reason behind the lowest targeted economic growth in more than 20 years. The new GDP growth targets were announced on March 5, 2022 in Beijing.
