Foreign fighters have begun arriving in Ukraine to help fight the Russian invasion. Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba told CNN that around 20,000 international volunteers have come to help shore up Ukraine’s defences. The volunteers have responded to calls by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to join an “international legion” he created to bolster his nation’s defences. Many of the volunteers say they answered the call to support a “just cause” to support democracy. Their governments, however, have given a mixed response to their enlistment.
