Three US service members killed in drone attack on US post in Jordan near Syria

The US president has said that the three service members were killed during a drone attack on US forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border.
“While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq,” he said but did not cite any evidence.
It remains unclear who exactly is behind the attack, but Iran-linked Iraqi groups have been targeting US forces in Iraq and Syria with drone attacks.
Earlier today, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq – a coalition of Iran-aligned armed factions – said it attacked three US bases in Syria. Iraqi groups often say that their attacks on US troops are in response to the Israeli massacres in Gaza.
“Have no doubt – we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing,” Biden said.
