South Korea conducted a manned air-taxi test flight at Gimpo International Airport on November 11, 2021. A pilot flew the two-seat model, made by German manufacturer Volocopter, to test control and coordination of the system’s urban air mobility (UAM). In 2020, the country announced a roadmap to begin commercial urban air travel between major airports and downtown Seoul by 2025. The service has been estimated to cut travel time by two-thirds for distances between 30-50km (19-31 miles).
