Russia is now on course to beat the United States in the latest chapter of the space race, after launching a film crew into orbit to make the first movie in space. Russian actress Yulia Peresild, film director Klim Shipenko, along with cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov arrived at the International Space Station on October 5, 2021, to shoot scenes of the feature film ‘The Challenge’. The director is already looking ahead to filming the sequel in Mars. Last year, Nasa announced that Tom Cruise would be blasting off on a SpaceX rocket for a Hollywood film.
