Residents warned about safety fears before Turkey earthquake – BBC News

Families are calling for justice after safety concerns around a collapsed apartment block in Turkey were made before the deadly earthquake hit almost two weeks ago.

The families of people who died or are missing from the apartment block in Gaziantep say concerns surrounding the safety of the block were raised long before the earthquake on Monday, February 6.

More than 100 arrest warrants have been issued in connection with unsafe buildings across Turkey.

The Turkish government has been accused of turning a blind eye to building regulations, but denies negligence.
