Republican Group Airs Scathing Anti Trump Ad On Fox News

A conservative group called The Republican Accountability Project has produced a scathing ad against Donald Trump that they have begun airing on Fox News. The decision to advertise on Fox was an easy one – it was the most efficient way to get their message to the people who need to hear it the most. But we always need to be cautious about praising groups like this because we do NOT have anything in common with them other than our disdain for Trump and his policies. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

A Republican group called the Republican Accountability Group has launched a six figure ad campaign for ads attacking Donald Trump that will be running in certain markets on Fox News. The ads, of course, are attacking Donald Trump for the 91 felony charges against him. And here is a, a brief snippet of what the voiceover in the ad says, because in America, the rule of law still matters. And that’s why Donald Trump has been charged with 91 felonies in four separate cases for attempting to steal an election, falsifying business records and mishandling classified information. It doesn’t matter that Donald Trump is president of the United States. It doesn’t matter that he is currently running for the presidency. This is America. No one is above the law. That’s why it matters that Donald Trump faces consequences for his actions. Uh, this is gonna run on Fox News, uh, in Phoenix, Milwaukee, Atlanta, possibly other areas if it’s successful.

And as part of this ad campaign as well, they’re putting up a giant billboard in Times Square, listing all 91 of the charges against Donald Trump. It’s a good message. I like the part that I read, right? They’re not wrong. No one is above the law, nor should anyone be including the current, former or future president of the United States. No one is above the law. But I’m not talking about this story because I like what the group is doing because let’s not forget folks, these are still Republicans. See, the reason they don’t like Donald Trump running is, is not because they’re, oh, he is got felonies. That’s so horrific. He’s such a bad guy. No, no, no. This group, the Republican accountability, uh, project, they’re afraid that Donald Trump is gonna hurt Republicans all across the ballot because they still want Republicans to win. Just ’cause they hate Donald Trump doesn’t mean they don’t wanna see Republicans and Republican policies succeed.

And we all know what Republican policies are. Let’s cut the taxes for the wealthy. Let’s dismantle education here in the United States public education. Let’s attack the L G B T Q community. Let’s strip women of their bodily autonomy. Let’s gerrymander, gerrymander, gerrymander. Let’s do all these horrible things. Let’s have an all out assault on migrants coming into the United States. Let’s keep wages low. Let’s kill regulations so more people get killed at work. Let’s do all of these horrible Republican things. Let’s just do it without Donald Trump. And this is why I repeatedly tell you, just because we have a common enemy doesn’t mean we have a common goal. We have nothing in common with these people

Other than our disdain for Donald Trump. Beyond that, the similarities end, and these people are not our friends. So yes, the ad is good. Yes, the ad is powerful, but let’s not waste another second praising groups like this because their end goal is not to reform politics. Their end goal is to remove Trump so that other Republicans can get elected. That end goal gets people killed. That end goal destroys the livelihood of our children. It destroys the future of this country. So while I support the message, I do not support their goals, and you shouldn’t either.
