Peru’s COVID crisis: ‘Almost all Peruvians know someone who died’

Like other Latin American countries, Peru remains in the grip of a brutal second wave of coronavirus infections.
Lost loved ones, overcrowded hospitals and a painfully slow vaccine rollout are plunging many people into despair.
Peru has recorded more than 15,000 deaths in the past two months.
