In full: Donald Trump leaves White House and makes speech saying 'we will be back'

The outgoing President Donald Trump has decided not to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration in a rare breaking of the tradition.

Mr Trump will depart the White House for Joint Base Andrews near Washington DC to hold a farewell ceremony for himself at 1pm GMT before flying to Florida. Outgoing vice-president Mike Pence is not expected to attend this ceremony, but he will be at Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Donald Trump will leave office with the lowest approval ratings of any post-war president.
