ICYMI: Manchin, Murkowski Participate In Energy Policy Discussion At Ceraweek

Manchin: “People would like to eliminate certain energy sources we use, I’d like to innovate.”

Washington, DC – On Monday, U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Chairman Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), participated in a panel discussion about U.S. energy policy as part of the 38th annual CERAWeek by IHS Markit Conference. The panel was moderated by Dr. Daniel Yergin, vice chairman of IHS Markit and conference chairman. They discussed their efforts to work together in a bipartisan way on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee towards pragmatic solutions.

Dr. Yergin questioned Ranking Member Manchin and Chairman Murkowski about the climate hearing the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee held last week and the editorial they co-authored in the Washington Post about the hearing and their ongoing efforts. They also discussed the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act and the Green New Deal.
