Bangladesh clamps down on COVID surge

Bangladesh is seeing a sharp rise in COVID-19 infections. Cases have tripled in a week – to nearly 4,500 a day.
The government has introduced new restrictions to control the spread. Public gatherings are now suspended, and masks are mandatory in public areas. Anyone eating at a restaurant must have a vaccination certificate.
Al Jazeera’s Tanvir Choudhury reports from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
