An 86-year-old suspect who appeared to be armed was arrested after reportedly taking two women hostage near Japan’s capital on October 31, 2023. The incident happened hours after a shooting took place at a hospital in the neighbouring city of Toda. Police said they were investigating the connections between the two incidents.
