A team of 13 elephants squared off with high school students during a football match in the Thai city of Ayutthaya on December 13, 2022. Painted in the colours of the flags of Fifa World Cup qualifying teams, the elephant players entertained onlookers with their skills. Organisers hoped the match would encourage pupils to participate in sports and also attract tourists.
