She’s been a controversial figure ever since being hired, alongside husband Jared Kushner, to a couple of the highest positions in Donald Trump’s White House. But Ivanka Trump has also become something of a fashion icon in the years since her father was elected. She’s frequently spotted at high-profile events, wearing the most stunning, and eye-wateringly expensive designer duds.
But she also catches notice when she dresses down, or on rare occasions, meets the public looking makeup-free. This First Daughter shows she’s just like the rest of us underneath it all.
In March, Ivanka took to social media to share a series of inspirational videos, all of which she appeared to shoot makeup-free. In one short clip, Ivanka’s skin looks radiant and completely free from blemishes, while her eyes are bright and shining. The First Daughter’s hair is relaxed and loose, while she dons a simple black zip-top.
The senior advisor to President Trump is known for looking glamorous and perfectly put-together at all times, so this is a nice change of pace for her. Although, really, it’s unsurprising Ivanka has no qualms about going makeup free on social media with a complexion this flawless.
Just a month later, Ivanka went makeup free again for another post, this time discussing the importance of staying vigilant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ivanka opted for a gray top and pulled her hair back into a loose bun, emphasizing her incredible bone structure.
In the caption to that post, she urged her followers,
“In these toughest of times, America shows her spirit and strength. This will end and we will emerge stronger than ever before. In the meantime, social distancing saves lives! Please do your part. We are all in this together.”
The fashionista has been spotted out and about publicly wearing a mask, sometimes even matching it to the rest of her designer outfit. But as we can see from her makeup-free pics, she’s certainly not afraid of showing her face to the world.
Makeup artist to the stars Trish McEvoy and Ivanka go way back, with the two originally meeting when they lived in the same apartment building in New York City.
According to an interview with the Evening Standard, McEvoy was doing the First Daughter’s makeup back when she was first finding her feet in the property business. Still, Ivanka was always 100 percent Ivanka. According to McEvoy,
“She always had a controlled sense of how she wanted to look. If you have that, you’re not swayed all the time by some trend that might not work for you.”
Though it almost goes without saying, McEvoy also added of Ivanka,
“She has almost perfect features, which helps.”
Unsurprisingly, Ivanka sticks to a very strict skincare routine. As she revealed to the Times of India,
“As a teenager, my mother once woke me up in the middle of the night to insist I remove my makeup. She felt like it was terrible for the skin, and I tend to agree.”
In fact, the personal advisor to the Trump White House has reportedly been a fan of makeup since she first learned how to walk. Ivanka has fond memories of watching her mother, Ivana, Donald Trump’s first wife, getting dolled up to go out. Ivanka once said, reminiscing to Oprah,
“I used to love sitting on the bathroom floor in my pajamas and watching my mother get ready for an event. She’d stand in front of her vanity and apply bright red and blue makeup, it was the ’80s, you know.”
Ivanka is adamant about passing the lessons she learned from her mother on to her own daughter, especially when it comes to glamour not being the most important thing in a woman’s life. As she told The Times of India,
