Japan’s leading clothing retail brand Uniqlo launched a pop-up store selling pre-owned clothes in Tokyo‘s Harajuku district in October 2023, as part of a push to cut waste in the apparel industry. It was the first of its kind for the casual clothing giant, and a sign that local aversion to used garments may finally be fading.
