Trump defends calling for delay of 2020 U.S. presidential election

U.S. President Donald Trump defended his call on Thursday for a delay to the 2020 presidential election, saying there was concern of mail-in ballots delaying the results of the election.

He said his administration wants to have an election and would like to see voter ID, but stressed he was fine with absentee voting but not mail-in voting.

Trump added that if the election is held using mail-in voting, the country would be a “laughing stock.”
