Nkurunziza to step down as Burundi president after 15 years in power

Incumbent President Pierre Nkurunziza is stepping down after 15 years in power. Seven candidates are competing to take his place, with two frontrunners.
But the lead-up to the polls has been marred with violence as Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi reports.
