Mixed messages over how Donald Trump is dealing with conronavirus

Donald Trump may have had coronavirus symptoms for longer than first thought, his doctor has suggested, and his vital signs were ‘very concerning’ before he was admitted to hospital.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Sean Conley explained that Mr Trump had been suffering from a mild cough, nasal congestion and fatigue – but is improving.

‘This morning, the president is doing very well,’ he said outside the Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland on Saturday.

Dr Conley said Mr Trump is currently not on oxygen and is having no difficulty breathing, but refused to be drawn on whether he was given oxygen before he was admitted to hospital.
