Meet Ooi Leng Chye, a volunteer at the My Bee Saviour Association in Malaysia. The group works to save bees from extinction, including by educating people about their importance to the environment. Bees are vital to ecosystems as pollinators of major crops. But habitat loss, pollution and pesticides have led to a rapid decline of the insects. The United Nations says that more than 40 per cent of invertebrate pollinators, including bees, are at risk of global extinction.
