In the city of Chengdu, the hotpot capital of China, around 150,000 tonnes of used hotpot oil is thrown out every year. However, one company has found a way to reuse some of the waste by turning it into jet fuel. In a nation that is home to one of the world’s largest populations, the issue of food waste has long been a headache for many Chinese cities.
