Travellers can now embark on Hong Kong’s first ‘cruise to nowhere’ amid continued travel restrictions because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The three-day cruise, offered by Genting Cruise Lines, sails in international waters before returning to Hong Kong. All ships will only be allowed to operate at half capacity, while passengers and staff on board must be fully vaccinated and undergo Covid-19 testing. Genting Cruise Lines is the first operator for such trips in Hong Kong, with the Royal Caribbean Cruises to start operating similar trips in October. The cruise is aimed at helping revive Hong Kong tourism, which has been hit hard by border closures due to the pandemic.
