Xi Jinping in Moscow to discuss Chinese peace plan for Ukraine with Russia’s Vladimir Putin

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin met for more than four hours in Moscow on March 20, 2023, discussing among other things the war in Ukraine and a peace plan proposed by Beijing to end the conflict, according to Russian and Chinese state media. The US warned that any attempt to call for a ceasefire that does not include the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine will not be accepted by the international community.
