Vo Van Thuong was sworn in by Vietnam’s National Assembly as the country’s new president on March 2, 2023. The 52-year-old becomes the youngest ever to hold the post, one of the most powerful in the country, amid a sweeping anti-corruption crackdown orchestrated by the Southeast Asian nation’s ruling Communist Party.
