UNGA acknowledges the Nakba for the first time ever

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas commemorated the Nakba at the UN on Monday and called for Israel to be suspended from the international body.
It was the first time the General Assembly officially recognised the event.
Israel call the event anti-Semetic and encouraged other countries not to take part in the ceremony.

Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports from UN headquarters, New York.
