More South Koreans are obsessed with reality dating shows, even though fewer of them are attracted to traditional notions of marriage and family. In a recent romance reality show, a young couple in a relationship for 10 years, without getting married, showcased their cohabitation lifestyle. It’s just one of more than 20 reality dating shows that have proliferated on South Korean TV in 2022. They are popular for giving people a chance to experience romance vicariously, even as they turn their backs on marriage.
