Peru: President Castillo dissolves congress, calls for elections

Peruvian President Pedro Castillo said on Wednesday he will dissolve Congress and call for elections, barely 18 months into a five-year term.
A state of emergency has also been declared and a curfew has been announced.
The opposition had been debating whether to impeach the president for the third time.
Castillo made the declaration in a televised address to the nation.
