A North Korean inmate was filmed escaping from a prison in northern China’s Jilin province. Zhu Xianjian, 39, was sentenced to 11 years and three months after committing a string of crimes, including crossing the country border illegally and stabbing a woman to steal cash and bank deposit books in 2013. When Zhu escaped, he had less than two years left to serve, according to court documents.
