Mighty Dragon: China’s upgraded J-20 stealth fighter

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force celebrated its 72nd anniversary on November 11, 2021. At the Airshow China 2021 in Zhuhai, the PLA Air Force announced that the country’s most advanced stealth fighter, the J-20, will stop using Russian engines in favour of an upgraded home-grown engine. Pictures and videos also revealed a variant of the J-20 Weilong, which means Mighty Dragon, with an elongated canopy capable of seating two pilots.
