Contract doctors in Malaysia staged a walkout on July 26, 2021, to demand permanent positions along with better pay and benefits. Since 2016, medical school graduates have struggled to find permanent posts within the country’s health care system despite a scheme offering new graduates temporary contracts. Police say they will investigate the demonstration for potential violation of Covid-19 gathering rules.
