La Palma volcano: High alert as lava approaches the water

On Spain’s Canary Islands’ La Palma, fears are growing that lava from a volcano on its eastern coast could reach the ocean.
If that happens, it threatens to release toxic gasses, putting the health of the coastal villagers at risk.
Hundreds of buildings on the Spanish island have been destroyed and thousands forced from their homes.
