India: Ladakh groups protest in New Delhi, demanding statehood

It used to be part of Indian-administered Kashmir — until the government stripped the region of its autonomy and split it into two territories in 2019.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration has since announced several infrastructure projects.
But residents now say they want their jobs — and land — to be protected.

Al Jazeera’s Pavni Mittal reports from New Delhi.
