Malaysian Muslims in the capital Kuala Lumpur have protested outside the Swedish embassy against the burning of Islam’s holy book by a Danish far-right activist. Swedish authorities allowed him to stage a demonstration by burning the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy. Authorities say freedom of expression is guaranteed under Swedish law and gives people extensive rights to express their views publicly. The leader of the Malaysian Muslim Organisation has demanded that the act be condemned.
