France’s Macron visits China seeking breakthrough in Ukraine war

France’s President says China could play a key role in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Emmanuel Macron is on a three-day state visit to Beijing for the first time in four years.
He will be joined by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Macron will meet President Xi Jingping later on Thursday.
Geopolitical Adviser Brian Wong says Macron hopes to take the lead on the EU’s China policy.
