Korean-American Chef Edward Lee says he got some tough advice from his mother as he unveiled plans for what he will serve at a White House state dinner on April 26, 2023, when US President Joe Biden will host visiting South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee. Lee said it has meant a great deal to him to work with first lady Jill Biden and other White House chefs on the menu, which he described as a fusion meal combining American and Korean flavours to celebrate the friendship between the two countries.
