Video released on January 31, 2023, showed Donald Trump’s deposition by the New York state attorney general’s office as part of a civil fraud investigation. The former US president labelled the deposition a “witch hunt” and refused to answer any questions. By the end of the August 2022 deposition, Trump had invoked the fifth amendment more than 400 times, according to a New York state attorney general court filing.
