A massive fire in the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung has killed 46 people and left dozens injured. The blaze, which broke out on October 14, 2021, burned down a 13-storey building. The 40-year-old structure, dubbed the city’s “ghost building”, reportedly housed mostly senior citizens and physically disabled residents.
