The Chinese Communist Party has been celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding.
Addressing crowds in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, President Xi Jinping hailed China’s “irreversible” course away from colonial humiliation.
While Xi praised the party for raising incomes and restoring national pride, he failed to mention its historic failures.
